Consider

1 Thessalonians 5:18
In every thing give thanks. For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Reading commentary on this passage today, I'm reminded that we ought to be thankful for even those circumstances that appear dark and formidable. We ought to praise God for every thing that happens to us under his government. For he has put all people in their positions of authority...from the lowest position of our daily life to leaders in our nation, and even nations in this world. The LORD makes no mistakes in the positions we are born into and those that we encounter daily.

We owe thanksgiving to any circumstance which gives adversity causing us to consider (Ecclesiastes 7:14) and come back from our wanderings - in thought or in deed. We should be grateful, and this is a reasonable service to the Lord. For the gift of our Saviour is great indeed. Our thankfulness is his will and our obedience in fear and reverence is our duty (Ecclesiastes 12:13).

Psalm 33:18-22
Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

Through The Years

I added pictures of Gabriel and Samuel (In case you already looked at these)

I wanted to post some pictures of our family through the years. You can see some resemblances though each kiddo is unique. Enjoy.

Mommy

Took this one of Samuel yesterday - ha! I guess we know who he looks like now:)

Daddy

Emma - look at all that hair at just a few days old.

Joshua made this pot. I was sorry we sold it last year, because we had a picture of each one of our kids at just a few months old in this same pot.

Jonah frowned a lot when he was very small. He is so cheerful now, it is hard to imagine...until I look at the pictures from back then.

Gabriel was a happy and very easy baby. His favorite thing to do was sit with Daddy, that was even his first word. His favorite thing to do still is whatever his Daddy is doing.

Samuel is a baby of many faces. I find it amusing that when I take a series of photos to get that one good shot, I have a set of emotions each time. And his pout could win an Oscar I bet!

Gabriel wanted to know who was with him eating popcicles. I laughed and told him that isn't him, but his Mommy with Uncle Josh!

I see Jonah in this picture, do you?

THE BLUE SKY RIDER....ah, the sweet memory of skinned knees:)

Whoa! Nice glasses Daddy!

Just so I'm not singling out Josh...check out those rolled jeans, and feathered, permed mullets!!!

Which One Of These Things...

Which one of these things is not like the other? Which one of these things just doesn't belong?

Oh...wait. They are both different!

Sometimes a woman can spend too much time on her appearance, and then there are those that might spend an extra minute or two more than she does.

Today I fall into the latter category. We were half-way through the sermon when I noticed my feet. I'm reminded to slow down and do a quick self-check before I leave, not just counting heads and stocking the bag with diapers. Just a little chuckle to keep me humble. Hope you have a great week, and a reminder: match your shoes!
